Nurses on What They Love About Their Hospital – Scrubs

The hospital where you work can feel like your second home – for better and for worse. It’s where you spend most of your time when you’re not lying in bed thinking of going to work. Some nurses had wonderful things to say about the places where they work, while others were less than thrilled. From great co-workers to ho-hum lunches, here are some of the best perks of working in a hospital:

Coworkers with a good sense of humor! Coworkers who are genuine! Coworkers who bring in food and share with others!

Lori

Sometimes there’s snacks in the break room.

Kate

Everything. I’ve literally been there my whole life! My momma worked there before I was born, I was born there, I trained there in nursing school, and I’ve worked there 34 years!!

Glenda

Coworkers with a good sense of humor! Coworkers who are genuine! Coworkers who bring in food and share with others!

Erin

The drive out of the car park at the end of a shift, and I’m not joking.

Sus

It’s close to my house. That’s literally it.

Brande

Honestly the nurses I work with On My floor are all phenomenal. I never worry about who I work with or stress because we all work really well together and help each other.

Emily

Only working 3 days a week! Making my own schedule!

Kara

I’m torn between my hospital letting 150 people sit in the ED every night or the PB&J Uncrustables…. it’s a really hard question…. it might just be the Shasta’s we have.

Cari

I do hospice. I love helping patients and their families.

Barbara

How close my car is to the exit.

Aaron

The way that everyone works together! It has an immense sense of community!

Cindy

My old crew, I’m retired and still miss ‘em.

James

Too much to list in one place! Awesome co-workers, a semi-predictable atmosphere (more so than med-surg, anyways), a (mostly) pleasant patient population that is a joy to care for, GREAT management! 10/10 recommended. 🙂 ❤

Shara

On the Kronos machine, there is a button called “Stamp out.” I love that button in the hospital.

Lynn

An empty waiting room in ED.

Claudia

That I’m caring for those who served our country!

Shelia

They have pretty good soup in the cafeteria.

Michelle

Diversity and community support!! I truly love my hospital!! ❤️

Sandra

The sugar-free chai tea latte and orange cranberry scone heated up with butter on my break.

Natalie

We used to have some great people working at our hospital. Some are still there, but it’s so different now.

Karen

The amazing staff. Not enough can be said about them. I am honored to be a part of that.

Sheane

Free bread. The only thing that’s free in that place. 😂

Paige

That it still smells the same as it did when I first worked there in 1998…
