A painting of an NHS nurse working during the coronavirus pandemic is set to be exhibited at a gallery in London.
The painting, entitled Floreas Britannia and by Francis Salvesen, will be on display in March along with more than 100 others works by the same artist.
Mr Salvesen said: “I put my heart and soul into this painting.
“You can see from the nurse’s eyes how tired but determined she is, and how much she cares about the many lives that have been lost, while giving hope to the thousands of people who caught the virus and their families.”
Mr Salvesen said he would donate £10 from the sale of each print to the NHS Charities Covid-19 Appeal.
He said his exhibition, The Joys of Being British, was set to tell a story of why Britain offered so much to be proud of.
Other paintings in the collection include native wildlife, landscapes and seascapes and British cultures and traditions.
The Joys of Being British takes place in Mall Galleries’ West Gallery from 10am to 5pm Monday 13 March to Saturday 18 March. Admission is free for all.
